About
She graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Psychology, where she was awarded a 50% scholarship and with a High Honors degree. Then, she graduated from Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Clinical Psychology Master's Program. She received theoretical and supervised Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy training as well as training on a variety of psychological assessment and evaluation tools during her graduate studies. Immediately after her master's education, she gave psychotherapy to Turkish and international inpatients with daily interviews and outpatients with weekly interviews at Boylam Psychiatric Hospital and Institute. She started to teach Abnormal Psychology and Child and Adolescent Psychopathology courses as a part-time lecturer at Bilkent University Psychology Department in 2020. She continues to give online and face-to-face psychotherapy sessions. Selin Yalçın wrote her undergraduate thesis on "The Relationship Between Anxiety and Overprotective Parenting Behaviors of Mothers According to Education Levels." She wrote her master's thesis on "Psychological Distress in Mothers of Children with Heart Disease: Emotion Regulation, Perception of Parental Self-efficacy, Caregiving Burden, and Family Functioning." He presented his undergraduate and graduate thesis research at the 19th National Psychology Congress and at the 33rd European Health Psychology Conference held in Croatia in 2019. She translated the section titled "Profiling Suicide Bombers" by Lester and Zeyrek-Rios in the book "Forensic Psychology" from English to Turkish. She has participated in many national and international trainings, conferences, and seminars in the fields of clinical psychology and psychotherapy. In addition, as Bilkent University Civil Defense Secretariat and Security Directorate trainer, she gave seminars on Effective Communication, Anger Control and Stress Management, Problem Solving, Proactivity and Motivation Development to the employees. She also gave seminars on Psychological Adaptation of Parents with Chronic Diseased Children at Ufuk University. She also worked as a trainer and supervisor at the School of Psychology in Clinical Practice and Objective Assessment Training (KUPO-N) for three semesters at Private Boylam Psychiatric Hospital. She completed her undergraduate and graduate education at Yıldırım Beyazıt University Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital Psychiatry Clinic, Bolu İzzet Baysal Mental Health and Diseases Hospital Community Mental Health Center and Boylam Psychiatry Hospital. Moreover, for her master's thesis, she interviewed about 300 mothers of children treated in Istanbul Kartal Koşuyolu Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery clinics about their psychological and social problems. During her undergraduate education, she took part in research conducted at Bilkent University Developmental Psychology (Bil-Ge) Laboratory. She has participated in social responsibility projects and the work of various university societies. She completed Intensive English Language Training in Oxford, UK. She received her undergraduate and graduate education in English. She speaks advanced English and A2 level Spanish. She is a member of the Turkish Psychological Association.
